- Voices in Wartime-Join JOY (Justice Outreach and You) Ministry at Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann's Drive, at 7pm fora unique experience of film, poetry, dance and conversation. Special guests John Gardiner, The Laguna Poet, and the multi-talented songwriter, storyteller, Mark Turnbull, will guide us in our journey. Dessert and coffee will be served. - Farmer's Market-As usual, in the parking lot next to City Hall on Forest Avenue. Come and grab some wonderful fresh treats!!!
- Homeless forum-A Community Homeless Forum will be held from 9 to 11am at City Hall, 505 Forest Avenue. For information, call (949) 497-0398.
- Women's Earth Ways-Maria Yraceburu, 13 generation Quero Apache Diiyin or Holy One, will lead a day of ceremony for women on Women's Earth Ways from 10am to 5pm at the Laguna Beach United Methodist Church, 21632 Wesley Drive. Preregistration is required at Yraceburu.org and the cost is $150.
Sunday-Happy Father's Day:
- Wine Seminar-At the Montage Resort and Spa, Loft Bistro, 30801 S. Coast Hwy, from 2 to 4pm. $25 per person. For information, call (949) 715-6420.
- U.S. Open-Final round of the national championship of golf will be on a television near you, unless you are lucky enough to have tickets to the tournament, which is being played down the 5 freeway at Torrey Pines...sorry, I know this isn't happening in Laguna, but I still have golf deep in my blood!
Those of you traveling around to see their loved ones, please be safe...as usual...and have a wonderful weekend. In case you didn't notice, there was no reference to the Thalia Surf contest...it FINALLY happened last weekend!!! I was beginning to worry that we were never going to get good conditions again. Well, crisis narrowly averted!
